VIENNA CLASSICAL MUSIC ACADEMY 6th INTERNATIONAL CLASSICAL MUSIC COMPETITION  - 2025 

​COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS

1. The competition is open to musicians of all ages and nationalities

2. Applications are made according to the principles in this specification.

3. Participants from the time this application declared that it accepts all the rules of the competition and be deemed to have committed.

4. Participants can apply at www.viennaclassicalmusic.org, the official website, by uploading all the necessary documents from the application tab. The competition results will be published here on the competition page and social media pages of the Vienna Classical Music Academy.

5. Participants will apply with a maximum 20 minute YouTube link for Category A and a maximum 15 minute YouTube link for Category B.

There is no minimum time limit.

6. Participants will be evaluated with the works they have applied to the competition, and if they are awarded a concert prize, they will perform with the same work. (They should make sure that the works they apply for are Orchestra accompaniments. In addition, the participant should also have the conductor's score, scores and copyrights, if any).

7. The selected works should be based on Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist and Contemporary (not Pop, Jazz, etc.)

8. Competitors are responsible for following up on all correspondence sent to the organization's official correspondence address, viennaclassicalmusicacademy@gmail.com. The organization accepts no responsibility beyond the announcements it has made.

COMPETITION CONDITIONS

​The contest will be held under 5 main instrument groups.

 

PIANO  

PLUCKED INSTRUMENTS (harp - guitar)

STRING INSTRUMENTS (violin – viola – violoncello - double bass)

WOODWIND INSTRUMENTS (flute – clarinet – oboe – bassoon- saxophone)

BRASS INSTRUMENTS  (trumpet – trombone –horn – tuba)

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION

* ID of the participant.

* Resume and contact information of the participant (e-mail, telephone)

* Photo of the participant at least 300 dpi resolution

* YouTube link of the performance. Durations of the works limited to a maximum 20 minute  for Category A and a maximum 15 minute for Category B.

There is no minimum time limit.

* Confirmation letter and parental identity stating that he/she will participate in the contest received from his parents for participants under the age of 18. (Only for Category B) 

* A receipt showing that the application fee for the competition has been paid by any of the options specified on the payment tab on the website.

​* It is not possible for the participants to impose any copyright or restriction on all audio and video recordings at each stage of the competition organized by the organization. All broadcasting rights of the content belong to the institution organizing the contest.

AGE GROUPS AND PARTICIPATION FEES FOR THE COMPETITION

Category A  (95 Euros)  Those born before  07.09.2007

Category B  (75 Euros)  Those born after     07.09.2007

PRIZE INFORMATION

All prize-winning contestants will receive their certificates at the award ceremony  in Vienna. 

(Certificates will be sent digitally to all contestants who were awarded a prize but could not make it to Vienna.)

AT THE END OF THE COMPETITION IN "CATEGORY A" INSTRUMENT GROUPS

(Piano-strings-woodwinds-brasses and plucked instruments)​
 

1st prize: 
The live performance in Vienna with the Wiener Stadtorchester will take place on November 5, 2025, at the Palais Ehrbar Grand Hall. 

A certificate for the first prize of the Vienna Classical Music Academy in the Classical Music Category A.
Professional audio and video recording of the concert will also be provided.

2nd prize:
The live performance in Vienna with the Wiener Stadtorchester will take place on November 5, 2025, at the Palais Ehrbar Grand Hall. 
A certificate for the first prize of the Vienna Classical Music Academy in the Classical Music Category A.
Professional audio and video recording of the concert will also be provided.

3rd prize:
The live performance in Vienna with the Wiener Stadtorchester will take place on November 5, 2025, at the Palais Ehrbar Grand Hall. 
A certificate for the first prize of the Vienna Classical Music Academy in the Classical Music Category A.
Professional audio and video recording of the concert will also be provided.

 

Jury Special Prize: Vienna Classical Music Academy Classical Music Category  Jury Special prize certificate

Honorable Mentions:  Vienna Classical Music Academy Classical Music Category  Honorable Mention certificates

* Participants, there is no right to appeal to the competition process and results.

* Award winners cannot transfer their rewards and rights to others.

* All participants who have won a degree in the competition are invited to the concert and award ceremony. Accommodation, transportation, and all kinds of expenses belong to them.

AT THE END OF THE COMPETITION IN "CATEGORY B" INSTRUMENT GROUPS

​JURY EVALUATION

* The works will be evaluated by the determined juries and the decisions made are final and cannot be changed.
* The jury is not required to provide personal feedback and comments on participating performances..

​* Contact about the competition with the members of the jury is definitely a reason for disqualification.
